Troy Malcolm

Troy Malcolm

Position: President

Rusea’s High School, Class of 1983

Professional Background:
Troy has spent over 30-years in the healthcare industry in various roles including programs geared towards providing support to seniors and low income families in inner city communities. He has extensive experience in community outreach and working with health care organizations in providing opportunities for disadvantaged individuals and families to have access to resources to meet their basic needs. Troy currently oversees one of the largest Risk Management and Surgical Equipment departments in New York.

Troy is a former captain of the Rusea’s DaCosta Cup football (soccer) team and led the team to the school’s first ever DaCosta Cup finals in 1983. After leaving high school, Troy was appointed Assistant Coach of the Rusea’s DaCosta Cup football team that went on to become one of the most revered and successful national high school football teams in the early 1980’s to 1990’s reaching the DaCosta Cup Finals every year from 1983 to 1990 and winning the championship in 5 of those years.

Troy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.

Personal Statement:
As a former student, teacher and a soccer coach at Rusea’s High School, the opportunity to address long standing issues related to the infrastructure at Rusea’s High School and contribute to the growth and development of academics and athletics is what drives my effort in collaborating with like-minded visionaries seeking to give back to their alma-mater. The Ruseas BrotherSister Foundation is fully committed to improving the overall environment for all students in the areas of sports, science, arts and technology. It is imperative that we challenge ourselves to do better, and to make the necessary changes that can transform the lives of the students at Rusea’s High School and the surrounding community at large. LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Professional Background:
Co-Founder and COO of CoinBridge Partners, LLC, that operates a large Bitcoin ATM network and OTC trade desk. Founder and president of Signature Financial Agency and over 20+ years experience in business, management and holds various certifications and licenses in Insurance and financial services.

Personal Statement:
Being asked to sit as a Director of Ruseas BrotherSister Foundation Inc. is amazing and can be effective in something I truly believe. They have a saying, “If you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far go together.” I see the vision of this foundation and choose to align myself to play a part in giving back and effecting change for the future generation of my alma mater.

Professional Background:

IT Professional with 25 years of industry experience providing technical expertise and IT leadership across varying sectors of the corporate world including, but not limited to Academia, Finance, High-Tech, Government and Aviation.

Areas of expertise include LAN, WAN, Voice and Cloud Technology.

I currently hold a MS in Management Information Systems (MIS), specializing in Information Security, as well as some of the industry’s most sought after certifications including Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE).

Personal Statement:

As we move toward a more technologically connected world, it is important that we provide an environment which will allow our Island nation the opportunity to get the tools and skills needed to survive in this new world; where better to start than in the educational institution. I am excited to lend my expertise and experience for the enhancement of Rusea’s High School; leveraging the Ruseas BrotherSister Foundation Inc., as the vehicle by which we can help the new generation to achieve.

Gregory Malcolm

Gregory Malcolm

Position: Director and Treasurer

Professional Background:
Finance Professional with extensive experience in management and business operations in the U.S. and internationally. Over 30 years experience working in Finance, including roles as an auditor with major public accounting firms and in finance leadership roles with a Fortune 500 company in the U.S.

Greg also spent 13 years on expatriate assignments in finance leadership roles in the U.K., France, the Philippines and Puerto Rico. Expertise in management, finance, accounting, governance and internal controls.

Greg holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Personal Statement:
The opportunity for our younger generation to have access to an educational institution that provides high quality education in a satisfying environment is what drives me to lend my support to the Ruseas BrotherSister Foundation Inc. As Rusea’s High School and its students succeed, then that contributes to the upliftment of the school, the community and to society in general.

Glaswin Brivett

Glaswin “Currie” Brivett

Position: Director

Rusea’s High School, Class of 1985

Professional Background:
Gaswin has extensive experience and expertise in the building construction industry, particularly in the field of Architectural Design. He has extensive experience in building design and construction and has led the development of key infrastructures in the island of Jamaica.

Glaswin “Currie” represented the Rusea’s DaCosta Cup football (soccer) team in the early 1980’s that was recognized as one the most revered and successful national high school football teams. Currie was a member of the team that made it to the 1983 DaCosta Cup finals and then went on to win the Cup in 1984 and 1985 in record breaking fashion.

Personal Statement:
As an alumni of Rusea’s High School, the opportunity to give back and support the development of the school in all manner from academics to athletics is particularly important to me. I am pleased to be part of the Ruseas BrotherSister Foundation that seeks to leverage and organize the broad and diverse community of Rusea’s supporters to help deliver against the vision and strategy of making Rusea’s High School a top choice for students looking to excel in academics and athletics.

Paul Dehaney

Paul Dehaney

Professional Background:
Paul is a sales professional with extensive experience in all aspects of sales management. He is a self starter with strategic and tactical skills, a solid team player with strong collaborative and relationship management capabilities focusing on delivering results in challenging market environments. Paul also has relevant experiences in events and fundraising management where he leverages his innovative and creative thinking to generate and execute on varying fundraising initiatives.

Paul represented the Rusea’s DaCosta Cup football (soccer) team in the mid 1980’s during one of the most successful periods in high school football. Paul was a member of the triple championship winning team in 1987 which won the DaCosta Cup, Ben Francis Cup, and the Nutrament Shield.

Paul holds an Associates Degree in Business Management.

Personal Statement:
Giving back to Rusea’s High School has always been a strong desire and passion. The Ruseas BrotherSister Foundation is providing that vehicle by which individuals such as myself, who have that desire to support their alma mater, can collaborate and leverage the power of unity to give back. Support for Rusea’s High School means better opportunities for students to learn, grow and develop into decent human beings.

Dawn Dawes

Dawn Dawes (m. Bonnick)

Position: Director

Professional Background:
Ms. Dawn Dawes (m. Bonnick) is a successful teacher of English whose experience spans nearly two decades of teaching at the high school level, both in Jamaica and the United States. She holds a teachers’ diploma from Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College, a Bachelor of Education from the University of the West Indies (UWI), and a Master of Science from Central Connecticut State University. Having been a student at Rusea’s High, Ms. Dawes saw it fit to return as a teacher where she worked in various capacities including Grade Supervisor and first female Officer in Command of the Rusea’s Cadet Unit. As a devout Christian and an educator, she is a fervent believer in pursuing one’s dreams so as to achieve self-actualization and positively contribute to the development of future generations. Ms. Dawes enjoys binging on cartoons and action movies.

Lloyd Stewart

Lloyd “BAGGA” Stewart

Professional Background:
Lloyd “Bagga” has spent over 30-years in the construction industry and is currently a Supervisor with certification from the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (“CSCS”) in the U.K. in a variety of construction related skills. Lloyd’s vast experience and expertise has seen him supervise key infrastructure projects in Buckingham Palace as well as other high profile government institutions in the U.K. which requires a high security clearance.

Lloyd’s commitment to Rusea’s High School and the community of Hanover is evident in the altruistic and charitable endeavors that he has undertaken in an individual capacity for the last 30 years. He has consistently provided donations of varying items to his alma mater and other institutions in the parish including the Rusea’s High School Library and the Lucea infirmary. He also has leveraged his expertise in events management by executing initiatives to support his local community including football community leagues in honor of deceased footballers, Primary and All Age school leagues for football and netball, and firework events to bring the community together.

Lloyd holds certifications in small business management and in construction skills.

Personal Statement:
After spending the last 30 years giving back to my alma mater and my community in an individual capacity, I am excited, encouraged and motivated to be involved with the Ruseas BrotherSister Foundation in a shared vision that will benefit Rusea’s High School and the community. I am encouraged by the last words of my dying mother who passed in July 2004, “Do not be discouraged by others, continue doing what you can to help others and make your community better.” I continue to be inspired by her words and it is reflected in my nickname BAGGA which means “Better Attitude Guarantees Greater Achievements.”

Board Committees

Fundraising and Event Planning committee:

This committee is responsible for coming up with fundraising ideas and defining fundraising requirements. Responsible for planning, organizing upcoming events in a timely manner, coordinating with vendors, sponsors, media outlets and Executive Board Members.

Public Relations and Membership committee:

Responsible for developing communication strategy to its members, non-members and school alumni. Also responsible for increasing membership and developing and maintaining membership outreach programs.

Nominating committee:

Responsible for recruitment of new Directors and nominate new and continuing Directors; nominate Officers of the Foundation; coordinate annual evaluation of Board operations; and periodically review the bylaws and recommend revisions to the Board of Directors.

Information Technology Committee:

Provide IT leadership to the foundation to enable the effective and efficient delivery of the endeavors set forth in the mission statement.
